I have not even started to talk about my life as a freshman. To make a long story short, I had to share my car with my son for four months in the winter. I was for the most part, confined to my home. Our pets loved all the attention. When I finally had my car back and I could register for college. I only had two weeks to figure out a schedule, make sure all financial support is in place and mentally prepare for the unknown. I started off with 3 courses in an eight week term. I did get cold feet about 4 days before classes started. I dropped my night because during the same day I had 2 others, each about 3 hours long in the morning. Good choice. The night before hte big first day adventure. Pets are just so cute when you need to get to sleep and stay asleep so you are not the walking dead the next morning. Everybody had a problem that night and of course my fine son comes home very late to awake everyone. I did manage to sleep about 3 hour total. My first class was English Composition 101. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I imaged writing about things that I would create, unforced and without rules. I was so WRONG.
I forgot to mention an important fact. I did not, nor do I now, feel out of place because of my age. As some may think that the younger students will glare or make remarks about the old lady over there. There maybe some but I have only been treated as an equal. Hey, we're all here for the same purpose. We can learn from each other.
